A couple of weeks ago, the good people at Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph invited Nic and I to enjoy a staycation / babymoon at their gorgeous, artistically-inspired, Columbus boutique hotel.
Of course, we gladly accepted as we had a wonderful experience there when we stayed on our own terms in October and we knew this would be one of the last times we were able to get away before the baby comes! 🙂Located in the heart of the Short North, The Joseph is ideally located on High Street, easily within walking distance from the area’s plethora of shops, bars, and restaurants. We arrived to the beautiful property on a rather chilly but brilliantly sunny Saturday, ready for our scheduled in-house spa appointments at The Joseph’s Spa Suites. Being 34 weeks pregnant, I was more than ready for my facial. While I considered a prenatal massage, I find facials so much more relaxing! My services were wonderful, as expected! After our spa treatments, Nic and I checked into our room, a gorgeous King Suite with the largest hotel bathroom I’ve ever seen, overlooking High Street. Sunlight poured in floor-t0-ceiling windows and while decorated in modern-style, the space was undoubtedly warm and inviting. We couldn’t have been happier with our room! After getting settled in, we ventured out to shop and grab a snack before getting ready for dinner. Later, we grabbed cocktails/mocktails at The Joseph’s Soul Bar, located in the Hub of the hotel. Soul was buzzing that night, which absolutely is telling of the energy of the Short North – even on a chilly March night. We almost made reservations at The Guild House, which is attached to the hotel, but instead, we decided on Marcella’s (one of our all-time favorite spots), which is perfectly situated across the street. On Sunday morning, we had to order room service because we neeeeded coffee and the just the sound of their pancakes was amazing! When you go to The Joseph, don’t leave their without doing room service for breakfast! It was wonderful and really made it feel very vacation-y for us. One thing we didn’t get to do that we want to the next time we stay is take advantage of The Joseph’s complimentary bike rentals. While we love riding bikes and we love the Short North area, we’ve never combined the two, which sounds like fun! Also, when we go back, we also want to try out their fitness center. It looks awesome! Oh and maybe our two pups could make the trip next time because they are pet-friendly! 🙂 If you like shopping, eating, and/or enjoying some spa time, The Joseph is definitely the perfect place to staycation in Columbus!
Thank you SO MUCH to Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph for taking care of us!
